About The Training
This 20-hour training provides an introduction to the core concepts and practice of Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), the first and only scientifically-validated, yoga-based care model for complex trauma and post-traumatic stress.
Designed for yoga teachers, clinicians, movement and fitness professionals, bodyworkers, healthcare practitioners, and those working with people impacted by trauma, this foundational training invites you to deepen your understanding of the complexities of trauma, the impact of trauma on the nervous system, and how a trauma-informed yoga practice can assist in healing.
While this training does not qualify participants to facilitate TCTSY, it is the first step to becoming a certified TCTSY facilitator and meets the foundational training requirement to enter the 300-hour TCTSY certification program.
Training includes:
16 in-person hours: a mix of lecture, discussion, small group work and movement.
4 hours of self-paced study (further practice, reading and videos).
Eligible for 20 CEUs with Yoga Alliance and 4 self-care CEUs with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Questions and Reflection -
This training provides an overview of the theory and methodology behind Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Theories covered include trauma theory, attachment theory, and neuroscience. We provide a broad overview of TCTSY methodology with the option to go deeper in our certification program.
-
The training is live and will not be recorded, with the exception of the yoga practices. These will be recorded for you to practice or view again after the training ends.
-
This training relies on building community and learning from our shared experiences. We’ve found that when the training is being recorded, live attendance drops and those who are present don’t feel as comfortable participating in the conversation. You will receive a copy of the powerpoint slides to review after the training, but we ask that you plan to attend the sessions live to ensure the best experience for everyone.
-
The self-study hours are completed on your own time, and may include additional readings, videos, or a return to the practices from the weekend. We provide additional readings, videos and resources for you to complete the self-study hours.
